600-level courses and seminars at the 800 level are normally limited to philosophy graduate students (though a particularly well-qualified undergraduate or special student, or a graduate student in another area, might sometimes be granted special permission to attend). Interested parties should contact me by email about the appropriateness of a given course for their needs and background.

It's also possible to work with me individually, either on the subjects of the lower-level courses I teach, e.g. PHIL 341 (for those who either need basic work on normative ethics or want to do more concentrated work on some of the main historical figures in ethics), or on any of my other areas of interest, including free will, practical rationality, metaethics, and philosophy of emotion; see the list of topics under Independent Studies. This may but need not involve sitting in on lectures for a course I'm currently teaching.

Graduate students in philosophy who would like to have my detailed comments on dissertation material or my help in working up a proposal for a dissertation and/or researching relevant areas, should also contact me about signing up for an Independent Study.
